Interlibrary Loan

If the resource you are looking for is not available at the BHC Library, interlibrary loan is the process of borrowing materials from another library.

I-Share

To search for items to borrow from other libraries, users can first search our online catalog to see if they are available in I-Share. I-Share is a shared library catalog with 90 academic and research libraries in Illinois.

Here are the steps to request items in I-Share:

  1. Go to the online catalog and log in.
  2. In the search bar, type your search terms and select All I-Share Libraries from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click on the title to check location and availability in the book record.
  4. In the How to Get It section, click on the I-Share link.
  5. In the request form, choose Black Hawk College as your Preferred Pick Up Location.
  6. Choose your campus for the Local Pick-Location.
  7. Click Send Request.
